Ninja Time Beginner & Progression Guide

New to Ninja Time or stuck in the mid game? This guide walks you through the whole journey, from finishing the tutorial to building an end-game character that melts bosses.

Each section tackles a specific pain point players hit, with concrete steps you can follow right away.

Getting started

After spawning at the Main Village reception, talk to the early quest-givers and complete the tutorial exam. You will fight training logs, learn to throw shuriken with H and use your first jutsu. Roll your starting Clan, Element and Family from the Customize menu and equip a skill before heading out.

Leveling fast

Leveling grants stat points to unlock skills and jutsu. The fastest XP comes from chaining quests and subquests with boss farming.

  • Complete every tutorial and side quest you can early - they give large XP chunks.
  • Farm bosses near your level in a group to clear them quickly.
  • Use strong AoE skills to tag multiple enemies at once.
  • Equip XP-boosting quests from trainer NPCs around the map.

Earning money

Money comes as Copper, Silver and Gold coins. You need it for mounts, gear and upgrades. Quests are the steadiest income, supported by boss runs that drop sellable loot. Bank enough Silver and Gold before level 22 so you can afford a mount the moment it unlocks.

Stats & training

You raise individual stats through specific training actions rather than only leveling:

  • HP: abdominal exercises.
  • ATK: situps.
  • Taijutsu: squats and situps.
  • Agility: hold J for chakra jumps.
  • Hand Sign Speed: regen chakra (hold B) and use throwables (H).
  • Chakra: meditate (hold I).

Best builds

Once you understand the systems, aim for a synergised build. Top combinations pair a strong clan with a matching family and a high-damage element - for example Purple Eyes clan + Purple Eyes family + Fire or Ice, or the popular Red Eyes meteor/teleporter build. See the tier list for full rankings.

Purple Eyes Ultimate

Clan / Element / Family: Purple Eyes / Fire / Ice / Purple Eyes

The strongest end-game build. Massive AoE with Universal Pull and Demonic Statue, bolstered by family skill damage.

Red Eyes Meteor

Clan / Element / Family: Red Eyes / Fire / Red Eyes

Popular PvP and farming build with Meteor Red Eyes or Teleporter Red Eyes plus Fire Entei and Fire Dragon.

White Eyes Hybrid

Clan / Element / Family: White Eyes / Wind / Ice / White Eyes

Balanced ranged and defensive kit with strong synergy between clan and family passives.

Fighter Starter

Clan / Element / Family: Fighter / Ice / Fighter

Accessible build for new players. Ice stun helps farming while Fighter provides reliable close-range DPS.

Boss strategy

Bosses have high health and dangerous moves, so preparation matters more than raw power.

  • Charge chakra fully before engaging and keep it topped up with B.
  • Use Target Lock (Middle Click) to stay on a moving boss.
  • Fill your mode bar (such as Susano on Red Eyes) and transform for burst windows.
  • Bring friends for world bosses like the Nine Tails (Kurama) on its fixed schedule.

Answers to the questions new shinobi ask most often.

How do I unlock my first jutsu?
Open the menu (M), go to the skill tree, pick an element and unlock a skill. Assign a keybind (Z, X, C, V, R or T).
When do mounts unlock?
Around level 22. Talk to the mount NPC near the leader's building, complete the mount quest and pay with Silver/Gold.
What is the fastest way to level up?
Chain tutorial and side quests early, then farm bosses near your level in a group using AoE skills.
Should I reroll my starting clan?
If you rolled Healer or Soul (D-tier), yes. Keep any S or A tier immediately. Use codes for free spins.
How do I beat world bosses like Kurama?
Group up, charge chakra before engaging, use Target Lock and transform when your mode bar is full. Kurama spawns on a fixed UTC schedule.
